CORK PRODUCT Care Guide

1. HOW TO CLEAN

Due to the properties of the cork, your mat and block are self cleaning, thus do not wash the mat or the block, and do not use any kind of mat cleaners with unnatural material or essential oils. This would make the design fade away, leave oil marks, reduce the performance of the cork and potentially damage it. Also absolutely avoid washing and drying machines. In order to clean your cork product, just use water or if you wish use a water base natural mat cleaner with a damped paper towel or non-abrasive sponge. If you wish to take your mat and block for an adventure in nature, the simplest way to clean the dirt is to hose it off with water.

2. REGULAR CLEANING

For normal regularity use it is recommended to clean your mat and block once a week, however If the mat is used for sweaty conditions in high regularity (everyday, hot or Bikram yoga) you may clean your mat after each practice. By doing this you are avoiding body oil build up on your mat to keep the mat smell and look fresh. All scouring pads or other course scrubbers must be avoided during cleaning as this will wear out the materials.

3. LET IT DRY

Our cork yoga mats and blocks are waterproof due to natural properties of cork, and they dry extremely fast, even if you take it to the pool. It is very important in order to prolong the durability of the product that after each cleaning or sweaty practice it is hanged or laid out to air dry. Do not use any drying tools or machines!

4. ROLL IT UP

Never fold or crease your mat. Our cork yoga mats are designed to be rolled up with the top side (the cork side) on the outside. This will help ensure your mat rolls out completely flat and smooth each time.

5. USE YOUR CORK PRODUCT

Sometimes first time cork product users might need to pass through a bit of a learning curve to gain all of the benefits which it has to offer. This will need your extra engagement and check of alignments. The more you use your cork product the more it will mold to your flow and style of practice, therefore the more you practice the more you will enjoy your new product.

6. INK TRANSFER

If you ever experience ink transfer from the mat, or cork this is only excess ink and it will not fade your design. Use a drop of a gentle natural soap and dilute it with large amounts of water, and wipe it gently with a wet paper towel or non-abrasive sponge. The natural properties of the cork fights water and moisture, including the water based ink used on the cork product.
