ECO-FRIENDLY AND BIODEGRADABLE

So’Ham Yoga cork mats are made with only natural materials which are 100% environmentally friendly and biodegradable; they are made with respect and love to our mother nature. The cork on our mats are collected from the stripped bark of the cork oak tree, and the natural rubber is harvested by making incisions in the bark of the rubber tree, there are no trees harmed or cut in this process. Next the cork is submerged onto natural tree rubber at high temperature to make the base and surface of the yoga mat with no glue or latex, thus it is completely toxic free. We then use natural water base ink in order to create unique patterns to enhance the beauty of our mats.

SUSTAINABLE PROCESS

The cork used in our mat is organic and solely natural. Cork is not man-made; it is collected from the stripped bark of the cork oak tree without cutting a single tree. The cork oak tree is a unique sacred tree with a long lifetime and an enormous capacity to regeneration. Once the tree reaches a mature age of 25 years it is peeled off for the first time, and after every 10 years the stripping circulates. After stripping the barks, they are sun-cured, steamed and softened and disinfected. After air dry they are cut into small pieces and punched into corks. The natural rubber used at the base of the mat is also collected in a sustainable manner from the tree rubber in a process called “tapping” which harvests the natural rubber with out anyone harm to the trees.

These yoga mats have no latex, PVC, silicon, phthalates and plasticizers. Be kind to your body and use this mat comfortably knowing there are no unnatural materials.

WATERPROOF AND NON-SLIP

Cork has a natural Non-Slip property due to a waxy and grippy substance called suberin. When the cork is wet the grip is even enhanced more, unlike any other mat on the market with cork yoga mats, the more you sweat the better the grip. Also cork’s micro-holes avoid sweat from pooling which helps you to avoid any sliding and eliminates the need for a yoga towel.

ANTI-MICROBIAL

The natural cork on the mat is antibiosis, antimicrobial and water and moisture resistant, which helps combat bacteria, mold, germs, mildew and reduces odour during and after your practice.
